Recently I was asked by The British Belt Company to review a few belts from their new Autumn Winter 2016 range. These belts have been designed to include both formal and casual attributes to ‘take you from work to weekend’, which infact is their tagline for the range #WorkOrWeekend.
Each belt is handcrafted by experienced craftsmen whose skills have been past down since the company started in 1946.
Review– The belts sent to me are pictured and labelled below. They are the Burley , Thisleton , Egleton , Bradgate & Rollerston. The belts come in a variety of colours; I chose a different colour for each belt in order to see how versatile they were.
Out of the five belts pictured below, I am in love with the Egleton & Burley in particular, not only did they come out great in the photos but they add this touch of elegance that is inspired by true British craftsmanship, & a feeling only the latter can bring to your outfit; The croc-style texture of the Egleton and the lizard-style texture of the Burley make them accessories you can wear to stand out amongst your colleagues at work or to make statement on a night out with your friends. When I think of #WorkOrWeekend I think of these two.
With regards to the other belts I just can’t visually distinguish them from what I’ve seen elsewhere on the internet. Of course there is only so much you can do with belts but the small intricacies to the Egleton and Burley make it so unique, don’t you think?
Having said that, the second you touch the any of the belts you understand that the fine leather is an experience to the hand, when lifted, the belts aroma becomes subtly apparent to the nose & you know the makers intended for that! Love it!
Personally, I favour the detail over the block colours alone. Your choice of belts will without a doubt range from mine, style and taste is subjective after all, that’s what makes it fun.
The same care and quality goes into all of the other leather goods The British Belt Company makes too, such as a variety of bags, braces and other accessories. It would be wise to check these out for yourselves on their website:
Remember, a belt isn’t just an accessory that holds your trousers up. It ties your whole outfit together. Think of it as the ribbon over your wrapping paper. After taking much care into wrapping your present you wouldn’t just throw any old ribbon on top of it would you? In other words the same effort and care that goes into buying your clothes should go into buying your belt.
